Friday night (the November 18) I had the honor and privilege to be a guest on the Never Not Working radio show on EVR.com.  Oskar and Chris were great hosts and allowed me to jam the whole show.  Afterwards Oskar Chris and I with a crew headed over to 2A and played some dance tunes with Brian Toll and Steven Zika until after 4.  Best night in NYC ever.

TIKI DISCO 2011 BROOKLYN

This was one of the best parties, if not the best party I've ever been to.

LET'S DO IT ON THE WEEKEND

 

Here's a little recap of what's going on.  I'll start with last weekend- Friday I got a chance to get back together with all of my dj crew buddies for our-every-now-and-then residency at City Tap House.  That was the BEST Friday night we've ever had. We kept them rocking until well after the lights came on. 

Saturday was the big show, though Zika and I only played an hour and change, we managed to transform an empty room into a full one even though a couple DJs who I won't name were in the booth THE WHOLE TIME during our set tinkering with everything. Now, I'm a passive aggressive (a little less than Zika), I let it go for a while but it seriously got to the point where these dudes were over our shoulders and hovering over the mixer.  Now, for all of you djs and non-djs who read this blog, that's a NO FUCKING NO.  People being in the booth is a given, and most of the time welcomed but it makes it 1000 times worse when it's another dj crowding the shit out of you while you're trying to do your set.  I hope they read this, and everyone take note if you were wondering good dj booth etiquette.

OK so this weekend is even crazier and it goes as follows: 

Thursday: The Barbary in Philly for MIDNIGHT WORK with none other than Lloydski and Eli Escobar

Friday: Back in NYC @ 2A

Saturday: DC @ Lotus 

Sunday: Back in Philly for Spice

EAST VILLAGE SWINGIN

So this past Friday was kinda awesome. I had the pleasure to play a friend and fellow disc jockey Brian's and his friend Oskar's birthday party. The jam went down at 2A in the East Village and Zika stopped by. Beforehand we ran into Blu Jemz over at East Village Radio right before Zika and I played some jams on Oskar's show Never Not Working.  I couldn't have asked for anything more of a New York Friday night.  The only hitch was that due to an amp with a temper, the music would cut out periodically, but the crowd was so dope, they kept on singing until the track came back on.  It was a night of vinyl, disco, house and hip hop and even included a Nate Dogg tribute. Amazing.  Wish you were there.
